Head Chef - Conference and Events
Full Time

Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, we are seeking an experienced and driven Head Chef to lead day-to-day kitchen operations and support the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences across our diverse event portfolio.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing kitchen performance, maintaining quality and consistency, leading the culinary team, and ensuring operational excellence across high-volume conferencing and premium events.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all kitchen operations
- Develop and execute innovative, seasonally driven menus aligned with the NWC brand and Australia’s wine story
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing culinary team
- Drive consistency, quality and presentation standards across all services
- Oversee food safety, compliance, WHS and hygiene standards
- Manage labour costs, rostering and productivity
- Control food costs, stock management and supplier relationships
- Support revenue growth through creative event concepts and menu design
- Collaborate with Events, Sales and Operations teams to deliver seamless event experiences
- Foster a positive, disciplined and professional kitchen culture

About You
You are a strong operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced events environment and leads by example.
You will bring:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume environment
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound commercial awareness and cost control experience
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Solid understanding of food and beverage operations
- Experience in conferencing, banqueting or large-scale events will be highly regarded.
