We are seeking an experienced and passionate hospitality professional to lead the front-of-house operations at the Restaurant Manager at Taikunthi - a vibrant modern Australian dining destination located within the beautifully restored Union House at the Adelaide University City Campus East.
Taikunthi (Pronounced tie-goon-dee) reflects the spirit of its Kaurna name, meaning to join, unite and partner together. It is a space where people can connect and enjoy the best of what modern Australian cuisine has to offer. The menu features dishes made from quality local ingredients and a carefully curated beverage offering.
Located in the beautifully restored Union House at the Adelaide University North Terrace Campus and operated by the National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC).
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic hospitality professional to join us as a full-time Restaurant Manager, overseeing front-of-house operations at Taikunthi Restaurant, Bar and Café. The role is primarily daytime, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings or weekend shifts for special events.
The responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Manage front-of-house operations for Taikunthi Restaurant, Bar and Café.
- Manage service standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and contribution to the achievement of budgeted profit, whilst working within budget constraints.
- Develop the front-of-house team by establishing effective employee relations, leading by example, and providing training and performance feedback.
- Foster and develop both inter-departmental and stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee reservations, bookings and guest enquiries, ensuring a seamless and professional guest experience from enquiry through to service delivery.
- Actively manage guest relations, including managing feedback and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of annual marketing and promotional initiatives to drive trade, increase brand awareness, and support business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to develop seasonal offerings, unique events, and menu-driven promotions that enhance the overall guest experience.
- Identify opportunities for new concepts, activations, and events in line with the venue's brand and target market.
