The fourth instalment of Jan’s exhibitions at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide continues his exploration of the imaginative interplay between subtle visual tones, elements drawn from South Australia's landscapes, and the layered textures of musical scenery.

Seen through the artist’s unique lens, the works immerse viewers in vivid abstract forms that echo with rhythm and atmosphere, unfolding gradually before transitioning into classical forms, concluding with a finale reminiscent of a Christmas lullaby.

The instalment consists of over thirty recent works including pure photographs as well as photo-collages.

About the Artist

Jan’s photographic practice spans more  than 40 years, beginning with his studies in Kraków, Poland, where he developed a deep appreciation for black-and-white photography. Together with his brother Zbigniew, he formed the Micro-Macro art group, creating experimental works that explored the relationship between art and science.

Since moving to Australia in 1992, Jan has exhibited in Melbourne and now Adelaide, where he continues to develop his craft. He is a member of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts (RSASA) and regularly participates in exhibitions at the RSASA Gallery.

His works have been awarded at both local and major international fine art photography competitions.

Outside his artistic practice, Jan has a long career in engineering and research, which continues to inform his curiosity and experimental approach.
