Grey-Smith Wines

Grey-Smith Wines was established in 2009 by winemaker Uli Grey-Smith.  The dream was to create sparkling Chardonnay wines that show vineyard expression, the influence of bottle age, with fine bead and persistent flavour.  Fast forward to 2025, the marquee is established with a following and ambassador network, likely available in your local independent bottle shop.  This is a virtual winery brand where Uli calls on his friends and colleagues to help press, bottle and tirage store the vintages to the appropriate age.

Uli continues to make these wines with a passion for Chardonnay and the zero dosage Blanc de Blancs style.  With the Mt. Gambier wines, fruit is purchased from the same vineyard rows every vintage.  Five years on lees in bottle is the minimum time before disgorging.  Some years a still wine is made, with vintage 2022 the latest release.  The Coonawarra Blanc de Blancs is only made in certain years with the 2019 vintage available now.
