On Friday 3 July 2026, join the National Wine Centre for a wine tasting event celebrating the diversity of Australian red wines.

The Drop In: Alternative Reds features a curated lineup of wineries from across the country, inviting you to push the boundaries of your wine knowledge and palate.

With 25+ producers under one roof, enjoy an evening exploring alternative and emerging red wine varietals like Cinsault, Barbera, Tempranillo, Nero D’Avola, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot and many more.

Discover your new favourite red, compare varietals and regions, and meet the makers, as you taste your way through unlimited samples with your take-home Spiegelau glass.

How many wineries will there be?

We are still finalising our stallholder lineup for The Drop In: Alternative Reds, but we expect 25-30 wineries to be pouring at the event. Stay tuned for the announcements!

Will there be food available?

Yes, we will have some food options available to purchase from the bar. The menu has been designed to complement your tasting experience.

Following the event, we encourage you to explore the nearby Rundle Street and East End which features some of Adelaide's best dining.

Can I buy wine to take home?

Yes, wineries will be offering tastings as well as selling bottles of wine to take home.
